In Lacey Township, police didn’t have to go far to find an allegedly drunk driver who struck another vehicle when he turned his Ford F-150 into the Walmart parking lot on Route 9, striking the read of a Jeep Patriot that was waiting to leave the lot.
The driver of the F-150, 56-year-old Clifton Loeser, didn’t stop, but he also didn’t exactly make himself scarce.
According to police, Walmart employees themselves helped the Jeep’s driver to track down the Ford, which was parked in the lot while Loeser apparently did some shopping inside.
Lacey police arrived on the scene and found that Loeser was intoxicated at the time.
He was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, and reckless driving.
The driver of the Jeep appears to have been uninjured in the accident, and Loeser’s truck was impounded by the police under the terms of John’s Law.
